What will you see?

Pulpit Rock is world-famous for its breathtaking panoramic views - and one of the country's most spectacular photo opportunities. At 604 metres high, it sits like a throne above the majestic Lysefjord. It was probably formed by frost heaving when the glacier was next to and just above the throne itself - around 10,000 years ago. Water that froze in the rock crevices broke loose large angular blocks that the glacier carried with it. Preikestolen was discovered as a tourist destination around 1900, and today it has become Norway's foremost natural attraction.
