Once you're in Egersund, there are a number of great sights worth seeing.

Trollpikken

The world-famous Trollpikken is a spectacular rock formation in Egersund, Norway. It stands and struts in the moor between Kjervall and Veshovda. The formation is a real phallic symbol that looks out over Dalane.Trollpikken looks great in these selfie times, as you can see here at Instagram and facebook. There is a separate website in honour of the rock formation. See the beautiful Dalane nature and pictures of the fun rock on instragram on e.g. the profile of @trollpikkenofnorway or @trolldick. Drive or cycle to the car park, or take the lovely slightly longer hike that starts at the hotel.

Eigerøy lighthouse

Eigerøy Lighthouse is one of the most visited attractions in Egersund. It was Norway's first cast iron lighthouse, built in 1853-54. The lighthouse was built to guide ships along an inhospitable stretch of coastline. The distinctive and beautiful coastal and cultural landscape on Midbrødøya is unique in the context of the county. Protected by a low front of
With rugged and wave-cut cliffs to the south and west, there is an intimate landscape made up of small patches of pasture, marsh, forest and heather moorland sandwiched between narrow rocky outcrops on the north side of the island. The treeless and very hilly island has been managed as grazing land for countless generations by many different farms, which also explains all the grinds on the road.

Egersund Faience Museum

Egersund Fayance Museum is a museum dedicated to the production of A/S Egersunds Fayancefabriks Co (1847 - 1979). For more than 132 years, the factory in Egersund supplied the Norwegian people with stoneware for both everyday and festive occasions. The factory had an exceptionally extensive production with a wealth of different models and designs. Fayance from Egersund is a popular collector's item today. The museum displays a selection of artefacts from the factory's long history. The exhibitions also show how the faience factory was a cornerstone of the town of Egersund. Egersund Faience Museum has implemented universal design at all levels in terms of both access and communication. There is a special touch gallery for the blind and partially sighted where all visitors can touch and feel the artefacts.
