Activities for groups and companies

We'll help you organise everything you need for a perfect stay. In co-operation with local operators, we can offer a range of group activities to suit most interests.

Betray Local

Get together with people you think you know, who is a Traitor and who is a Loyalist? Can you find the killer(s) before time runs out? Can you find some allies to play with? Join the unique story that will unfold for you and your group during the hours of play.

Gather your group of friends or company for a game of frustration, laughter, suspicion, backstabbing, calculated lies, temptation - the whole gamut of emotions. If you're unlucky and leave the game early, you can influence from the sidelines.

Can be played from 8 participants, up to groups of 100.
Price varies depending on how long the game lasts; 3 hours, 5 hours, extreme (24 hours with accommodation)

Hire electric bikes from us

Many of the groups that visit us want to be active and go cycling in the area and along the beaches of Jær. How about a bike ride out to the beautiful sandy beach of Skadbergsanden or to the majestic Eigerøy lighthouse? Feel free to ask us about tours and routes.

Beer tasting

Brewery tour and beer tasting at Berentsens Brygghus is a popular activity for those who want activities as a social break in the afternoon.

Berentsen is a family-run business that is constantly expanding its range. Today, they can boast production of soft drinks, apple juice, tonic, spirits, energy drinks and whisky. An evening at the brewery includes beer tasting, storytelling and a guided tour.

The tasting and guided tour starts in the brewery's own brewery room, where you'll learn a little about the history of Berentsen's Brewhouse while tasting 5-6 selected beers. Finally, there will be a guided tour of the brewery and distillery, where you'll get information about how the actual brewing/distilling takes place. In connection with Christmas, the focus is on Christmas beer and Christmas beer traditions. Dining is also possible.

Cheerful city walk «Gadelangs»

Arnt Olav Klippenberg takes you through the streets he knows inside out. You'll hear some facts and a little about what's behind the facades, but first and foremost it's a city walk with good stories, not dry history, Klippenberg offers. The tour takes around an hour.

Arnt Olav Klippenberg is also a much-used columnist. You've probably read his column ”Fra provinsen” (From the provinces) in Aftenbladet or seen him on the revue stage with the group Show Chow. A talk lasts as long as you need it to, but between 30 and 45 minutes is the norm.

Wine tasting and lectures

Another great activity is wine tasting. We organise this here at Grand Hotell and our skilled staff plan and set up a tasting to suit your level of knowledge and interest.

You don't need to know anything about wine to take part in a tasting with us. We have experience of wine tastings for both large and small groups. We sometimes bring in wine connoisseurs to take you through exciting storytelling and tasting.

You can choose your own theme, maybe there's a particular wine country you'd like to explore? Or maybe it's time to taste different bubbles?

Music quiz a la beat for beat

Experienced artist and entertainer Anne M Vikeså brings her guitar and holds an informal “live” music quiz competition.

With the help of familiar guitar riffs, key words, songs and knowledge questions, everyone is involved in the competition. The teams reason or guess at songs, artists and years, and end up in an unrivalled sing-along competition. There's a high level of engagement and, at times, a lot of adrenaline. Each team is given a switch that leads to a lamp mounted on the stage. When the team has an answer ready, they press the button and the lamp on stage shows which team is next. This ensures that everyone is included, has fun and dares to participate.

Suitable for groups from 10 - 80 participants, and great as an after-dinner activity.

Drive on a car track
Motorcenter Norway

Norway's newest motorsport facility, Motorcenter Norway, is just 3.5 miles from Egersund town centre. Grand Hotell Egersund is a natural choice of hotel when visiting this spectacular facility, which is nestled between mighty mountains in Sokndal in the very south of Rogaland. Not only is it brand new, it's also Norway's most complete motorsport facility. Here you'll find Norway's only motocross hall and a large area for off-road driving.

Do you have a group that's ready to feel the power of an engine? Contact us today for information about exciting group and package solutions.

«Egersund Challenge»

«Egersund Challenge is an iPad race run in collaboration with the activity provider Fresh air. This is a team building game on tablets/smartphones that requires strategic thinking, quick reaction time and
good creative interaction.

You are divided into several teams that will compete against each other. The tasks range from factual questions, riddles and photo assignments to stunt assignments. You don't need any specific skills or particularly good physics, and the teams that do best are those that work well together, are creative and solution-oriented and, not least, have fun together. You get good instructions before you start, and the game is controlled at all times by a game master from Frisk Luft.

Many people choose to summarise and choose winners during dinner later in the evening. The photos taken during the game can be displayed on a large screen. The game can be tailored to the individual company, and you can influence the content, e.g. by using questions from your own company, etc. The game takes place outdoors and provides a good opportunity to discover Egersund town centre while you play. Remember to dress for the weather!

Whisky tasting

Whisky tasting at Berentsens Brygghus is a new activity. The whisky hall and tasting centre at Berentsens opened in spring 2024. Here you can join the «Vardberg Whisky tour», a guided tour where you can discover Vardberg Whisky's history, production, special Norwegian ingredients and flavour.

A tour of the Whisky Hall includes a welcome with cold, locally produced beer while the story of Vardberg Whisky is told. The tour continues to the whisky hall itself, where you can explore the production and processes surrounding Vardberg Whisky. You'll also get an insight into maturation and cask storage before moving on to the Tasting Hall for a tasting of three different types of Vardberg Whisky.

The tasting centre is located next to Berentsens Brygghus along Jernbaneveien, just a short walk from the hotel.

MindPlay - Psychological games for team development and learning

We offer engaging exercises that combine psychological games with practical tools to strengthen teamwork and solve everything from simple to complex challenges. Our activities are designed with both learning and development in mind, whether you're a management team, project team or department.

Why:
Psychological games provide a safe arena for learning through practice. They strengthen team dynamics and make it easy for participants to transfer new knowledge to real-life situations. Our experiences create engagement, insight and better collaboration - values that last over time.

How:

  • Experience: Through practical exercises, lasting typ: 45 minutes, participants face challenges that require co-operation and creative thinking. This is perfect for creating team spirit in groups that want to achieve common goals.
  • Reflection: After each activity, we have 15-20 minutes to summarise, exploring what worked, what could have been done differently, and how this affects the team dynamic. This provides valuable learning moments.
  • Tools: Participants are given concrete methods and strategies based on reflection that can further develop the team's performance.

MindPlay makes learning engaging and practical, while creating lasting improvements. Get in touch to experience the power of psychological games and see how your team can flourish!
