Losen

Losen is located on the ground floor of the Seglem building, one of the three buildings that were integrated into the Grand Hotel in 2013. It's a quiet part of the hotel, a short distance from reception, and the room has AV equipment and space for 14 people around the meeting table.

About the room

The lot truly reflects the hotel's use of reuse and redesign, and is full of exciting antiques from the rich history of the city and the building. The original hatches, which were used to drop goods down when the space was used as a shop, have been preserved with fibreglass letting daylight down and shining on the ships on display here.

The venue has a maritime theme and the interior consists of an old night shelter, a rudder, floating balls of yarn used as lamps, a large meeting table and coffee table made by Frode Kommode Tingbø from sawn timber from the old bakery, an old office desk found in the attic and Persian rugs on the floor. The warm and cosy atmosphere is perfect for private parties, board meetings or courses. Art from local Jær painters such as Per Gimre and Johan Wittrup hangs on the walls, and a couple of cosy lounges invite you to snuggle up. You can enjoy an aperitif in Losen before dinner or avec after a delicious dinner at Eigra Kitchen & Bar.

Jærmalarane

From the end of the 19th century, artists discovered Jæren. They came for the landscape, nature and the special light. The light, nature and landscape are still there, and we now have the art and stories left behind by Jærmalarane. The Jærmalarane project will highlight the artists who came to Jæren and the paintings and good stories they left behind. In addition, Jærmalarane will be a stamp of quality for tourism in the region and help to make Jæren known as a place with a different and beautiful landscape, and with a light that is not found anywhere else in Norway.

Steering table and lounge area

In Losen, the layout is fixed with a separate boardroom table and a spacious lounge and mingle area. The room is suitable for day meetings, aperitifs and dinners in a separate room for smaller groups who want a separate area to themselves.
