Three historic wooden houses
Egersund is one of three historic wooden townships in Southwest Norway, between Stavanger and Kristiansand. These towns have unique, well-preserved wooden houses that provide a vivid insight into Norwegian coastal culture and history. Egersund, Sogndalstrand and Flekkefjord are located in a row, one after the other, and can therefore be visited starting from both the north and the south.

Egersund

Just a short drive from Egersund you will find Sogndalstrand. The small town is located where the river meets the sea, with old seaside houses and wooden houses closely clustered along the water.
Large parts of the settlement have been preserved from the time when the site was an important trading post along the coast. The entire area is protected.
Sogndalstrand is a perfect day trip from Egersund – both for culture and nature experiences.
Flekkefjord
A drive south takes you to Flekkefjord, a charming coastal town known for its white wooden houses, narrow streets and exciting history.
Here you can explore the popular Dutch town, with an outdoor gallery with over 40 outdoor works of art.
Flekkefjord offers a nice contrast to Egersund and gives you another insight into the region's coastal culture.
