Concert with Vea/Høymer Guitar Duo

Welcome to a new concert experience at Eigra wine &cocktail bar
Sondre Høymer and Tormund Blikra Vea met as students at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and together they formed a guitar duo based on their shared love of classical romantic guitar music. Individually, they have won several national and international awards and are two of the most active and sought-after performers in Norway. Together they have formed the guitar duo Vea/Høymer Guitar Duo, whose debut release «Neuralgia» (2018) has received excellent reviews at home and abroad.

They are currently working on a project that focuses on newly written music for guitar duo in interaction with electronic elements. The music is written by Sondre Høymer and Tormund Vea (Vea/Høymer Guitar Duo) and experiments with effects and compositional techniques inspired by minimalism. This time they will be using electric guitars. Instead of thinking about new music for the classical guitar, they are thinking about the guitar as a whole, and have written new music for the guitar in general. With this, they want to explore new arenas for art music, including playing their music in arenas where classical music is not usually heard. Eigra wine & cocktail bar is one of many places they will be performing this autumn.
