Bøyum Trio from Stavanger, plays compositions by Julian Bøyum Müller and songs from jazz history with an emphasis on the hard bop and modal jazz era.

Bøyum Trio consists of Julian Bøyum Müller - guitar and compositions, Jakob Yttredal on drums and Erik Ingebrigtsen on bass.

The music is energetic and characterised by impulses from blues and modal jazz, with Grant Green, Pat Martino, Bill Stewart, Elvin Jones and Wayne Shorter as important sources of inspiration. In addition to inspiration from the American jazz tradition, the expression and Bøyum's original compositions are inspired by life, the weather and the industrial landscape of western Norway.
