Egersund is said to be one of the Norway's best preserved wooden villages. Here you can stroll around cosy little streets among preserved wooden houses that today house shops, restaurants, cafés and small homes. The Culture trail in the city centre has become a popular activity for tourists and others who want to get to know the city and its history better.

Unique lunar landscape in Magma Geopark

Experience the unique lunar landscape in Egersund. The geology here is unique on a global scale. In fact, you'd have to go to the moon to see more anorthosite - the rock we have the most of - in one place! Egersund is located in a Magma Geopark that is recognised by UNESCO. There are only 140 such geoparks in the world. Check out Magma Georpark, an adventure of nature experiences for both young and old.
