SOLD OUT - The parrot & the professor
Humorist and musician Rune Nilson and Professor Emeritus Jan Kristian Hognestad are both Egersun residents who are passionate about language, but with very different approaches.
Rune has travelled far and wide with his award-winning dialect journey and spoken his way through the country countless times, while Jan Kristian has enlightened people both as a university professor, lecturer and as a regular language expert on NRK P2 for over 25 years.
Where the parrot mimics and jokes with dialects, the professor is knowledgeable and thorough. But what happens if you put these two extremes together? That's what we're going to find out in Grandkjelleren on 20 September.
For the very first time, Rune will take a dialect journey with an expert who can explain why our dialects sound the way they do and what influences have shaped the extremely varied and rich Norwegian language. There will be both laughter and learning from east to west and south to north, and nobody yet knows if it will ever happen again.
